Unless you've been living under a rock the past few days you've undoubtedly heard the news that His Purpleness, Prince, has passed away. He passed away last Thursday morning, April 21, after recently suffering from flu like symptoms that had caused him to cancel two concerts in Atlanta, Georgia. Officials say an autopsy was performed and Prince was cremated. The location of his remains are undisclosed at this time.

Friday's Power 96 Cool One was a memorial, of sorts, to a man who has had a huge impact on the world of music both while alive and now in his passing. I decided to showcase his performance with Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and George Harrison's son, Dhani, as they covered "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" during George Harrison's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2004. Prince's guitar solo appeared to impress his fellow musicians.

This afternoon's Power 96 Cool one, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, comes your way around 4:35PM and features early work from a Lodi, New Jersey, heavy metal band.
