Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One was Pink Floyd's "When the Tigers Broke Free." This is a track that was used in the movie The Wall and released as a single. It also appears on the 2004 CD reissue of The Final Cut. Although not a hit in the U.S., it made it to No. 39 on the UK charts.

The song deals with Pink Floyd singer/songwriter Roger Water's loss of his father during Operation Shingle during World War II. It was originally suppose to be a part of The Wall album, but when Waters presented it to the band, they voted it down due to the personal nature of the song. As you listen to the song, you can feel the sadness, anger and frustration that Waters felt at having lost his father at such a young age.

This afternoon's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, is from an artist who once appeared on Sex and the City. Be listening at 4:35PM to find out who it is.
