Yesterday on the Power 96 Cool One, I featured '70s pop rock band the Raspberries and their hit single "I Wanna Be With You" from their second album, Fresh. Released in 1972, it became their second-greatest hit in the U.S. after their biggest hit, "Go All The Way." The single broke into the Top 40 on three major charts of the time, No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 10 on the Cashbox Top 100 and No. 7 Record World. Released on November 13, 1972, Fresh was their highest charting album, peaking at No. 36 on the Billboard Album Chart.

Join me today for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault. This afternoon's Cool One highlights a forgotten heavy metal band from Japan that attempted to make it big here in the U.S. in the mid-80s. Think you know who it is? Tune in at 4:35 PM and find out if you're right.
