In case I haven't mentioned it before, Rush is my all-time favorite band. So they're going to be coming up quite often as a Power 96 Cool One. Yesterday's choice was no exception as I decided to feature Rush's "Making Memories" from their second studio album, Fly By Night. Like most of their earlier work, this single failed to crack the charts in the U.S., although the other single from their album, the title track, did manage to chart at No. 45 in their native Canada.

Released on February 15, 1975, Fly By Night was the first album to feature new drummer Neil Peart, He had joined the band in July 1974, replacing John Rutsey due to health problems and musical differences. He had to learn the band's music quickly because they began their first U.S. tour two weeks later, opening for Uriah Heep and Manfred Mann in Pittsburgh.

Please join me at 4:35PM this afternoon for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
