Monday's Power 96 Cool One came from Santana. "Smooth" got a lot of airplay when it came out in 1999, so much so, that I was sick of hearing it after a while. Having never purchased Supernatural, the Grammy Award-winning album it's from, I recently came across it at a used book store in the Twin Cities and decided to pick it up to add to my burgeoning collection. As I was rifling through my CDs over the weekend, trying to decide which tunes I was going to use for the Cool Ones this week, I pulled this one out and thought, "OK, I burned out on this song years ago but it was a good tune, so let's give it a go as Monday's Cool One."

By the way "Smooth" went to No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the album Supernatural made it to No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and won a Grammy for Album of the Year and three Latin Grammys for Record of the Year.

Today's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts, comes from a band whose name was inspired by a T.S. Eliot poem. Make sure you're listening at 4:35PM for this fun summertime song.
