On Friday I chose to play Slaughter's "The Wild Life" as my Power 96 Cool One. This single was also the title track from their second studio album that they released on April 21, 1992, and it peaked at No. 28 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart while the album itself topped out at No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard 200. Unlike their debut hit album, Stick It to Ya, it managed to make a showing on the UK Albums Chart at No. 64.

Several other singles were released from the The Wild Life including "Out for Love," "Days Gone By," "Reach for the Sky" and "Real Love," which went to No. 69 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 24 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Slaughter continues to tour to this day and will be making an appearance at Grand Casino Hinckley on Saturday, September 10, as one of the many bands that will take the stage during the Grand RockTember Music Festival IV.

Don't miss the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault. It comes your way at 4:35PM each weekday afternoon on Power 96.
