Singer, songwriter and record producer Steve Perry, was the Power 96 Cool One artist that I featured on Tuesday. Best known as the lead singer for Journey, Perry had a successful solo career before basically dropping out  of the spotlight due health issues including hip surgery.

Tuesday's Power 96 cool One came from Perry's hit solo effort released in April 1984, Street Talk. The track I chose was "Foolish Heart," which peaked at No. 18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart. The album made it to No. 12 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 59 on the UK Albums Chart. It also spawned his biggest solo hit, "Oh, Sherrie," which topped out at No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and was written for his girlfriend at the time, Sherrie Swafford.

Please join me this afternoon at 4:35PM for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly Auto Parts in Faribault.
