Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault, came from a Scottish power pop band that got together in 1977. This band actually started out as Badger, and their first release was a self-titled album they put out in 1979. Their best-known single was yesterday's Cool One called "The Shape of Things to Come." That single made it to No. 45 on the UK charts and No. 65 on the U.S. charts. "Stepping Stones," "Kickin' the Kans," "Schoolgirls" and "Something's Happening" were also released as singles in Europe.

An unreleased album was issued in 2013, titled The Lost Album and featured 10 tracks for what was to have been a follow-up album to their debut record. It was dedicated to their drummer, Davy Ross, who had passed away in 2010.

Today's Power 96 Cool One is from a group whose band's name and logo are a disparaging term for the peace symbol. Tune in at 4:35 p.m. to find out what band I feature on Power 96.
