I've always liked the Hooters, the rock band out of Philly who've been around since 1980. On Thursday I chose to highlight their 1985 hit "And We Danced" from their second studio album, Nervous Night. Featuring two of their biggest and most well known hits, this album was also their highest charting effort, reaching No. 12 on the U.S. Billboard 200. Their following album, One Way Home, would only reach No. 27 on that same chart in 1987. The Cool One itself peaked at No. 21 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and for some odd reason was very popular in New Zealand, reaching No. 9 on their Official Music Chart. Nervous Night would also spawn what looks to be their biggest hit to date, "Day by Day," which topped out at No. 18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. It also gave us the minor hit "All You Zombies," which made it to No. 58 on the Billboard 200 and No. 11 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Join me this afternoon at 4:35PM for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
