I kicked off the week of Power 96 Cool One's by playing Todd Rundgren's "I Saw the Light" from his double album Something/Anything which was released in February 1972. This album also contains his highest charting single, "Hello It's Me," which broke into the Top 10, peaking at No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1973. Meanwhile "I Saw the Light" also charted well, coming in at No. 16 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The album itself, which was his third solo effort, remains his best-selling record, climbing to No. 29 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

A couple of weeks ago, Neal Rado sent me a great suggestion for a Power 96 Cool One, and just like him, you can too. Just go to the Power 96 website and become a VIP member and you can send me suggestions for the Power 96 Cool Ones.

I especially like trying to find oddball, one-off tunes and deep tracks that make you think, "Yeah, I haven't heard this one in a long time, nice choice!"

Tune in at 4:35PM today when I play one of my favorite Glenn Frey tunes in memory of his death yesterday at age 67. The Power 96 Cool One is brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
