Wow, the weekend never seems long enough, yet last Friday's Cool One seems a distant memory. Hopefully you didn't miss it because I featured a track off Canadian power trio Triumph's (the band, not the dog puppet) third album, Just A Game, titled "Hold On," which made it to No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100. This 1979 release was also known for their first big hit, "Lay it on the Line."

The United States and Canadian single versions were the full-length song, while the video-length version, at a mere two minutes and fifty nine seconds, was released internationally.

Due to its complex arrangement, "Hold On" has never been performed by the whole band in concert except as an acoustical performance. That version is found on their live album, Stages.

Join John Anderson this afternoon at 4:35 for the Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly Auto Parts in Faribault, when I feature what I called a Mellow Monday favorite of mine by a three-lettered band out of Georgia.
