Tuesday I served up Uriah Heep as your Power 96 Cool One. I picked a song that I remembered hearing quite a bit in the early '80s, but haven't really heard much of since then. That tune was "That's the Way That It Is" from their 14th studio album, Abominog. This single was their highest charting single of the '80s, reaching No. 25 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and No. 106 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album, released in March of 1982, topped out at No. 56 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 34 on the UK Albums Chart.

Abominog featured the return of former drummer Lee Kerslake, the addition of former Ozzy bassist Bob Daisley, and new vocalist Peter Goalby, along with new keyboard player John Sinclair. It also featured several cover songs, including a cover of Russ Ballard's "On the Rebound" and John Mellencamp's "Hot Night in a Cold Town."

Please make time for this afternoon's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, at 4:35PM.
