Wednesday's Power 96 Cool One came from the heavy metal band W.A.S.P. It was my pleasure to track a little ditty called "Blind in Texas," which by the way, was written in St. Paul by lead singer Blackie Lawless. Lawless is the only remaining member of the original line-up. The Cool One came from their second studio release, The Last Command, which peaked at No. 47 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was the final record that founding member and guitarist Randy Piper appeared on.

My friend Dave introduced me to this band and I was immediately hooked on their sound and image as a shock-rock styled band. I've got to admit that even to this day I enjoy W.A.S.P.'s innuendo filled lyrics contained on their earlier works, like their self-titled debut, The Last Command and Inside the Electric Circus. They appeal to that high school kid in me.

Check out tomorrow afternoon's Power 96 Cool One, at 4:35PM, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
