Wishbone Ash was yesterday's featured artist during the Power 96 Cool One. I tracked the song "No Easy Road" from their May 1973 fourth studio release, Wishbone Four. Unfortunately this single failed to chart, but the album fared better, peaking at No. 44 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 12 on the UK Albums Chart.

This British rock group tasted their biggest success in the early to mid-'70s and were one of the first groups to feature twin lead guitars in their lineup. Despite having success with their albums and live shows, I couldn't find one instance of them scoring a hit single, and though they were a talented band, they are fairly unknown to most classic rock fans today. Which is a pity because I recently rediscovered them and have started devouring their earlier works, which have a less polished but hungry sound to them. If you're interested in checking them out, give their album Argus a listen. It's arguably their best work to date.

Please join me at 4:35PM this afternoon for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
