Power 96 Cool One Recap: Wolfmother

The Power 96 Cool One that I highlighted yesterday came from Australian hard rock band Wolfmother. I tracked "New Moon Rising" from their studio album Cosmic Egg, released on October 23, 2009. The Cool One was the first single from the album and was released prior to the album on August 25, 2009; it peaked at No. 38 on the U.S. Billboard Alternative chart and No. 32 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and No. 50 on the ARIA chart in their native country.

Even though they formed the group in 2000, their music catalog is fairly small, having released only three studio albums and four extended plays. On that note, I do have good news for you if you're a fan -- Wolfmother is set to release a new album, titled Victorious, in February 2016 and plan on touring to support it. As a matter of fact, it looks like their first show of 2016 will be at First Avenue in Minneapolis on February 24.
