The Power 96 Cool that aired yesterday was ZZ Top's "Stages" from their hugely successful ninth studio album, Afterburner. "Stages" was just one of several singles from the album and peaked at No. 21 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Their other hit singles included "Velcro Fly" at No. 35, "Rough Boy" at No. 22 and their highest charting cut from the album, "Sleeping Bag," at No. 8. The album was released at the end of October 1985 and topped out at No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 2 in the UK.

As I mentioned yesterday, ZZ Top is a band that has maintained the same lineup for more than 40 years and are known for their strong blues roots as well as their innuendo and double entendre-filled songs. They're in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and have 11 gold records and seven platinum records under their belts.

Join me today at 4:35 for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, when I feature a band whose first album was titled Back Street Symphony.
