What a busy weekend I had. On Friday night I got to crank up some classic rock and golden oldies and hang out downtown with some sweet rides during the second Faribault Mainstreet Car Cruise Night of the summer. This time I was set up on the corner along with the rest of the registration crew and there was a nice breeze, which made it very comfortable. It was great seeing all the nice vehicles, their owners and everyone who came downtown to check them out. We gave away a few prizes and the cupcake eating contest went over well with the kids. I even had a helper that gave me a hand with announcements.

On Saturday night we were perched on the rooftop of the Medford Muni for the Rooftop Toss and Street Dance held during Straight River Days. This year's band, Copperhead Creek, hit the stage at 9PM and really sounded great. Throughout the evening, leading up to the dance itself, we were broadcasting live from the roof and blasting Power 96 as we threw beach balls, t-shirts and can koozies down to the crowd gathering below. The big moment came when the band took their first break and we began the prize toss in earnest. We were really loaded with prizes this year and seeing how much fun everyone was having trying to snag a prize always makes this event one I look forward to being a part of each year.
