I enjoy watching NASCAR on Fox. I don't have cable or satellite, so when they have the races on Fox that's the only way I can watch them. One of my favorite track reporters on the races was Steve Byrnes. I say was because Byrnes has gone to do reporting at the big track up in the sky.

Steve was 56 and lost his battle with head and neck cancer, just days after a huge tribute was paid to him by having the Food Club 500 in Honor of Steve Bynes.

Steve had a great rapport with all the NASCAR drivers. It seems like no matter what mood they were in they were always able to talk to him. And when he was on the air talking something technical about one of the race cars, he made it so the average Joe Listener could understand.

Byrnes touched more lives than he could ever know. I didn't know him, but I felt like I did because of his work. Enjoy that big track in sky and say hi to Dale for me.
