If you are heading out to dinner this weekend in Owatonna and you are finding it tough to find a parking space you aren't imagining it. There are going to be thousands of people in Owatonna this weekend for a record-sized softball tournament. The 39th annual Corky's Early Bird Classic is being held and it is one of the biggest tournaments in the country.

With a tournament record 178 slow-pitch teams going to Owatonna, there will be no shortage of games to see, or people in town. Corky's Early Bird draws teams from coast-to-coast, as squads from California to Florida are taking the field along with the home-state hosts.

The action got started yesterday with the Hometown Tournament, with 8 teams from Owatonna and Faribault competing for local glory. Each team in the tournament is vying for a chance to participate in the USA Softball National Championships, the winner's from three divisions will clinch a berth in the championships.

The main event gets started tonight (Friday, May 4) at 7 p.m. with the top two teams in the nation, #1 WCMonsta vs. #2 H. Auto/HDD/Easton, squaring off in the tournaments first game.
