Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn and City of Faribault Fire Chief/Emergency Management Director Dusty Dienst stop by KDHL today to give us details about a coordinated cleanup effort planned for tomorrow.  The two officials will be on at 9:30 a.m.  If you can't tune in at that time we plan on placing the audio from the show on this page before mid-afternoon today.  www.kdhlradio.com .

We will get more details, but this is information I have received from Rice County.  Authorities are requesting those who need help with cleanup of damage on your property to call the Rice County Storm Hotline toll-free number 1-833-643-7423.  They want to get volunteers out to you and assist in the cleanup.  The plan is to have buses load at the Rice County Fairgrounds and go to the Roberds Lake area and Morristown in addition to various locations in Faribault.

Northfield has a planned cleanup day of October 8th and is encouraging people to report any property damage to them by next Wednesday, October 3rd.  The City of Northfield is performing an initial assessment of private property structural damage.  In a news release the City of Northfield states, "The assessment will only include location and general category damage, not specific dollar values of the damage."

In order to perform the assessment efficiently they request you report the damage by phone or email.  The phone number is 507-645-3045 and the email wanda.plachter@ci.northfield.mn.us.  Please leave a message with your address, name, and what part of your home is damaged by Wednesday, October 3.  Structural damage only.  This is not intended for reporting storm damage to trees.

The Rice County Solid Waste Facility reminds residents they do accept demolition waste, municipal solid waste, appliances, electronics, for a fee.  Household Hazardous Waste is also accepted at no charge providing it's from a household in Rice County.  The Rice County Solid Waste Facility is open until 4:30 p.m. today and tomorrow from 7:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

The City of Faribault compost site is open until 7:00 p.m. today and from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. tomorrow.

Remember if you want to burn yard waste you must receive a burning permit from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).  Permits can be applied for at this website:
