Rice County Commissioners Meeting was Over in a Blink
It may have been the shortest Rice County Board of Commissioners meeting ever.
The meeting was scheduled to begin at 8:30AM. It adjourned at 8:40AM in the Commissioners Room of the Government Services Building in Faribault.
County Highway Engineer Dennis Luebbe requested the board set August 8 at 7:30PM as the date for a public hearing on the proposed transfer of County Road 87 to Wheeling Township.
The commissioners obliged and the public hearing will be at Wheeling Township Hall.
Sheriff Troy Dunn asked the board to adopt a resolution entering into a joint powers agreement between the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Rice County Attorney and Sheriff's Office.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Program is a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing more than 3,500 federal, state and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. These agencies are engaged in both proactive and reactive investigations, forensic examinations and criminal prosecutions.
Dunn pointed out the resolution was a renewal of a three-year agreement.
