Ten-year-old Maohamed Mungani was killed in an accident while riding his bike on August 17. Brad Mondahl, his friend, decided after that to do some type of event to help get kids helmets. That got the attention of Randy Johansen, who had put on a ride earlier this year in honor of Sophie Schultz, who died after being hit by an SUV while riding her bike in Albert Lea.

Johansen contacted Mondahl and organized a motorcycle ride for Saturday, September 24, from the Albert Lea American Legion to the Waseca American Legion. This is to raise money so organizers can purchase helmets to give out free to kids in Waseca. It does not matter what income background the kids have. The distribution of the helmets has to be worked out yet.

The ride will depart Albert Lea at 11AM. Registration starts at 10AM. Admission is $20 per rider or you can donate a new helmet. Afterward there is a donation meal and a silent auction. You can also donate at the Roundbank account set up by Parkview Estates and there is a Go Fund Me Page to help the family.
