Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who was caught driving a stolen car a few weeks ago was arrested Saturday night after leading officers on a chase while behind the wheel of a stolen pickup truck.

A Rochester police officer spotted 29-year-old Cody Haakenson but broke off the chase when it hit high speeds.

The stolen truck was spotted a short while later by an Olmsted County deputy near Chester. Haakenson led that officer on a chase that hit speeds of 104 mph before he crashed in a farm field along Viola Rd, east of Century High School and was taken into custody.

In the earlier case, Haakenson was charged with stealing a car from Chatfield. The vehicle involved in the case was reported stolen from Lewiston.
