Section 1AAA Girls with Three Teams in Top Nine

The Minnesota Basketball News released the latest high school girls basketball rankings Friday. Section 1AAA is going to be some kind of tournament in a few weeks.

In the Class 3A top 20, Northfield climbs to fourth and Kasson-Mantorville drops to fifth while Winona is ninth. Red Wing is 16th. Holy Angels is on top with Alexandria and Orono in the top 3A three.

In Class 4A, unbeaten Hopkins is on top with unbeaten Elk River second. Apple Valley, Lakeville North and Eastview are third, fourth and fifth. Rosemount is 20th.

In Class 2A, unbeaten Roseau on top, Sauk Centre is second and unbeaten Norwood-Young-America third. Defending state champion Plainview-Elgin-Millville is fourth and Hayfield ninth.

In Class 1A, unbeaten Mountain Iron-Buhl is on top and defending state champion Goodhue is second. Mankato Loyola is fifth and Lyle-Pacelli sixth.
