Back in February authorities were called to a Lakeville home on the report of a person not breathing and had apparently been assaulted. Police found the victim bleeding from his head, mouth and nose.

According to the police report, the victim had gotten into an argument with James and Roman St. Pierre. James had said that the victim swung at him. But he also said he kept hitting the victim because he had become so angry. Roman St. Pierre also admitted hitting the victim three or four times.

The two pleaded guilty Monday to third-degree assault. They were each sentenced to 90 days in jail, which will be stayed if they remain law-abiding.

They were also put on probation for one year. As part of the plea deal, they each had a first-degree assault charge dismissed.

Officials at Hennepin County Medical Center stated the victim had been admitted in critical condition and that he had sustained multiple facial fractures and head trauma. They also said he was intubated and that his kidneys were failing.
