Shakopee Student Suspected of Sexual Assault

An 18-year-old student from Shakopee High School was arrested in a case of an alleged sexual assault on a female student.

The student reportedly led the female student by the wrist into a locker room during school hours and then assaulted her, according to Police Chief Jeff Tate. The investigation is ongoing and more information is due out Thursday.

The school district said it notified parents of the event on Wednesday. The student is still in custody.
