Everybody has heard of one stupid law or another that's still on the books and they were usually implemented back in the "old days." Recently while I was surfing the web I came across several laws that just kind of made me shake my head.

Did you know that in Minnesota it's illegal to stand around any building without a good reason to be there? This is considered vagrancy or loitering. I would imagine this would be a hard law to enforce today, especially here in Faribault.

As strange as this sounds, it's illegal to cross state lines with a duck on your head, and it's against the law to enter Wisconsin with a chicken on your head. That just cries out to the rebel in me to walk across the Minnesota/Wisconsin state line with a beautiful Dutch Bantam perched on my cranium in complete defiance of this law.

By the way, if you sleep completely in the buff, that's against the law, too. Put some clothes on, you pervert.

And bathtubs may not have feet. No matter how I looked at that I couldn't understand where that one came from. How could feet on a tub cause any trouble? Anyhow, if your tub has claw feet or any other type of foot, you better pull it out and replace it with a conventional bathtub before the police get wind of it.

A couple of city-related laws that I found amusing were in Minneapolis you can't drive a red car down Lake Street. I broke that law every day that I went to school at Brown Institute in my red Chevy Nova. In St. Cloud you can't eat hamburgers on Sunday.

Those are just some of the weird laws in Minnesota. If you want to read about more, check out the website, Big Government. Small Brains. Dumb Laws.
