The weather was beautiful so I spent Saturday mowing my yard and trimming some brush and hauling it to the compost site. By the time I was done it was mid-afternoon and I was pretty hungry. My wife was in Minneapolis for a day out with the girls at Cinderella at the Orpheum, so I was on my own when it came to making a meal. I stopped by the store and picked up a butterfly pork chop, a baking potato and some corn on the cob.

When I got home I popped the potato in the oven, got the Dakota Grill ready to smoke the pork chop with some apple chips that I placed carefully in the tray at the back of the grill. I seasoned the meat and placed it in the grill, set the temperature of the grill and probe and starting smoking the pork chop. I went back in the house and starting boiling some water for the corn. Meanwhile the Dakota Grill was doing a fantastic job grilling and smoking my pork chop with that wonderful apple flavor. Everything finished up at about the same time and after adding some applesauce, I sat down to a very enjoyable meal and the apple-smoked pork chops were delicious.
