If your idea of a fun day is tearing through the woods on your bike in the middle of a Minnesota winter, I've got just the event for you. The Snow Crush Fat Tire Race makes its triumphant return for the third year at the River Bend Nature Center on Saturday, Jan. 14, hosted by F-Town Brewing Company, Cannon River Offroad Cycling and Trails and the River Bend Nature Center.

Last year 65 participants took part; this year organizers are hoping for 100 racers. Registration starts at noon with the first race getting underway at 1PM. There will be two race classes, a beginners and an advanced. The advanced men’s group of racers will race for four laps equaling 16 miles. The advanced women’s group will complete three laps equaling 12 miles. The beginner class will race two laps or the equivalent of eight miles.

F-Town will host an after-party event and present the awards at 4PM. Enjoy food, music, product demonstrations, a raffle and more. The raffle will benefit Free Bikes 4 Kidz, a statewide charity that gives kids a free bike. A portion of the race proceeds go to help fund Cannon River Offroad Cycle & Trails.

If taking part in the race isn't your thing, you can still enjoy what's suppose to be a sunny day and cheer on the racers at the River Bend Nature Center.
