No School? Snow problem! The River Bend Nature Center is offering a release-day program for youth ages 8 to 12 on Friday, February 13 from noon until 5 p.m. Children are invited to join River Bend’s naturalists for an afternoon full of outdoor and indoor fun, all celebrating snow!

Participants will begin by learning about snow, its uniqueness and composition, while playing games outside. Then the group will head inside to enjoy some hot chocolate while learning about Minnesota’s winter birds and help count birds for the citizen science program Project Feederwatch. Youth will make bird houses and feeders out of recycled materials and end the day with snowshoeing! Participants should bring their own lunch, snacks and warm beverages will be provided.

The cost of the Snow Day program is $25 ($20 for River Bend members). Pre-registration is required for this program by February 9. For more information and to register, please visit www.rbnc.org or contact River Bend by phone at 507-332-7151.
