Solomon Bakery and snacks, out of New Brighton, is recalling about 873 pounds of meat pie products that were not federally inspected, were misbranded and had undeclared allergens. The products contain known allergens, eggs, milk and wheat.

According to the USDA recall notice, the beef, chicken and turkey meat pie items were produced on various dates from February 2016 to May 2016. The following products are subject to recall:

  • 5-oz. packages containing one “Solomon Snacks and Bakery Meat Pie Beef”
  • 5-oz. packages containing one “Solomon Snacks and Bakery Meat Pie Chicken”
  • 5-oz. packages containing one “Solomon Snacks and Bakery Meat Pie Turkey"
  • Unlabeled Styrofoam boxes lined with wax paper containing 5-oz. frozen meat pie products produced by Solomon Snacks and Bakery

The problem was discovered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which notified the Food Safety and Inspection Service.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
