South Central College in Faribault Dedicates Fitness Center

A new fitness center was dedicated at South Central College in Faribault on Tuesday afternoon. SCC President Dr. Annette Parker attended the event and told KDHL that physical fitness and mental fitness coincide.

Studies have shown exercise does stimulate the brain. The fitness and activities center not only has exercise equipment but also an area to engage in the Wii Fit interactive games. Parker says not only will students be able to use the new equipment, but faculty and staff will as well.

She noted students were excited to be part of the designing process for the area, which was simply going to be an unfinished portion of the basement at the college. Parker added that South Central College partnered with Cybex in obtaining the equipment because they were impressed with the fitness center at Faribault High School.
