It reads almost like a scene from an action movie. A stolen dump truck in the southern metro ended up snagging overhead utility wires causing a power outage in Inver Grove Heights, with the stolen truck found dumped in the middle of the road with no signs of the driver.

According to the Star Tribune, the stolen dump truck also pulled down several utility poles early Thursday resulting in nearly 1,800 customers losing their electricity.

The crash occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on Concord Boulevard between Dawn Avenue and 66th Street. The truck was stolen from a nearby business, and the driver then activated the dump box, which tugged on the power lines, resulting in the outage.

Police Chief Paul Schnell told the Star Tribune that the thief then left the truck in the middle of the street and has yet to be apprehended.
