Tilt-a-whirl

The Rice County Fair has been going on since Tuesday, and there is no shortage of fun, including carnival rides such as the Tilt-a-Whirl. Check out this fun video from inside the famous ride!

Kelly and Rick Dale, owners of Rick's Restoration, and stars of the History Channel show American Restoration were in town for the unveiling of the Tilt-a-Whirl car that was restored on the show and placed on Central Avenue.

Thursday afternoon a totally restored Tilt-A-Whirl car was unveiled in front of Burkhartzmeyer Shoes in downtown Faribault. Hundreds gathered to see the finished product, and most of them had their picture taken with American Restoration stars Rick and Kelly Dale...

I'm not originally from Faribault. When I first arrived, I knew little of the area, but people were quick to educate me on the many high points of the community. One of the claims to fame is that Faribault is home to the Tilt A Whirl. Anyone who has ever been to a fair has seen or taken a ride on one, and around Faribault, you're almost guaranteed to know someone who spent part of their life build

Every June Faribault celebrates it's heritage with a carnival, historic tours, a car show, music and a parade. The weather may not be perfect this year, but that won't stop the fun!
