Another close call in northern Minnesota.

The Good news. It's nice outside. Temperatures are in the 50's. The bad news, the National Weather Service says there is an elevated fire danger in many parts of the state.

It is November 27th, and the forecast for today shows highs near 60 degrees.

Northeast Minnesota has taken the brunt of the first winter storm of the season to hit the state.

Undated (KROC AM News) - Several rounds of thunderstorms are possible into Friday evening and there is another threat of severe weather and heavy rain, which poses a flooding risk due to the saturated grounds from this week’s earlier storms.

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Thunderstorms hit southeastern Minnesota late Wednesday afternoon, producing strong winds, lightning and brief periods of heavy rain, more than an inch an hour in some areas.
