Last Thursday, September 18th was the 22nd Annual Taste of Faribault. I had only ever been to the event once, several years ago for a very brief amount of time. Having heard really good things about the event, this year I decided to go and check it all out.

Upon walking up, we could see a decent amount of people and several stands set up outside and they had a DJ set up playing some music. The weather was perfect to sit outside, listen to some music and snack before heading indoors to see the rest of the event.  In total there were over 25 booths. There was something for everyone! There were ribs, sliders, water,  carrot cake, craft beers and apple ales, sushi, jambalaya, beans, reuben balls, subs, wine, chocolates, meat trays, tropical shaved ice, sandwiches and coffee drinks plus so much more! My favorite samples of the night were the cupcakes, fresh cheese curds (this is Minnesota after all), a delicious spinach and artichoke dip, and the best fresh apple I have ever had!  Seriously, I need some of those apples!

Some businesses used this to showcase a new menu item, others picked a customer favorite, but no one left hungry!  In addition to getting to sample all of the great food, it was fun learning about some of the businesses that were there. Faribault really has some excellent establishments, and a great variety too, from grab and go to white linen tables and everything in between.

Next year make sure you attend the Taste of Faribault and take a culinary tour through our town!
