Thank You to the Snowplow Operators!

There are some winters when we see very little snow. Then there are winters, like this one when we see frequent and heavy snowstorms.  I am sure many other citizens sometimes take for granted the snow plow operators. When you think about it, it is amazing how quickly they can get the roads plowed. That is true for State, County and the City of Faribault plows.

About a week ago Faribault received many inches of snow. I was concerned about getting across town and to the studio by 4:15 in the morning. I left a little early with warm clothes on and an old fashioned aluminum scoop shovel in case I got stuck. I broke a track on the street and Louise followed in her car. I went about 3 blocks and I was surprised to see the street I was turning onto was already plowed.

In fact, all the streets from about 3 blocks from our house to downtown Faribault including Central Avenue were already plowed. It was around 4:00 am. I suspect the snowplows had been going most of the night. So, if you operate a City, County or State snowplow and sanding truck, thank you for your dedication, experience, and skill!
