John’s Early Oscar Predictions

With the Oscars now just a couple of days away, I thought I might share a few of my picks again in case you missed them earlier. I have not seen any of the best-picture nominees yet. But I always go based on my gut feeling. We will check back afterward to see how I did.

Best Picture: "Birdman"

Actor in a leading role: Bradley Cooper, "American Sniper"

Best actress: Julianne Moore, "Still Alice"

Actor in supporting role: J.K. Simmons, "Whiplash" (I am still attached to him from his "Closer" days)

Actress in supporting role: Patricia Arquette, "Boyhood"

Best director: Wes Anderson, "Grand Budapest Hotel"
