Memorial Day was less then a month ago, and Flag Day is right around the corner. This is  a good time to reflect on sacrifice and everything that it means to be American.

It was a defining moment in our country's history. Everyone can tell you exactly what they were doing on Sept. 11, 2001, how they reacted, and how it shaped the next few weeks, days or years. The planes first hit the north tower, followed by the south tower, forever changing the New York skyline and the country.

Video footage documents the 11-year construction process of One World Trade Center from October 2004 to Memorial Day 2015. The building has 104 stories, is 1,776 ft high, and features a 408-foot spire, making it the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. It features the One World Observatory, which an observation deck that sits at 1,250 feet above the street level.

Where were you when you heard the news on Sept. 11, 2001?
