University of Minnesota Football Team Unveils New Uniforms
To say 2nd year Head Coach PJ Fleck is bold would be an understatement. Fleck is all about the mentality of 'Row The Boat' so much so the University of Minnesota helped him bring that slogan with him when he arrived on campus last year. Well, now Fleck has put his trademark slogan on the Gophers football uniforms for the upcoming season.
So there you have it. New helmets that are in white, burgundy, and metallic gold. Those helmets get mixed and matched with Burgundy, gray and white jerseys and pants. Heck, Fleck even gets the signature oar on the helmet with the bumper saying 'ROW'.
A unique pattern of an oar, boat, and compass are emblazoned on the jersey numbers and collar to represent the program’s Row The Boat culture. The man behind the design at Nike, Senior Graphic Designer Josh Iverson, made the addition of metallic gold to the uniform as a salute to Coach Bierman and his all gold uniforms.
So now that they are officially unveiled and with only a month left before you see them on the field for the first time August 30 against New Mexico State at 'The Bank' TCF Bank Stadium, what do you think? Don't forget you can also tune into the season on AM 1390 KRFO-AM
