Rice County Sherifff Troy Dunn did provide us with updated information concerning a sledding accident over the weekend in Wheatland Township.  Dylan Pint, age 3, of Veseli was injured when the sled he was riding hit a tree.

The initial news release had no identification of the injured.  So this is the first release of that information.  The call to authorities came at 10:10 Saturday morning.  In addition to the Rice County Sheriff's Office, other responders to the accident were the Lonsdale Police Department, Lonsdale Fire Department, North Ambulance and North Memorial Air Care.

Pint was treated at the scene by emergency personnel and airlifted to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis.  Sheriff Dunn tells us he is listed in stable condition with a head injury.

The exact address of the medical incident was 10295 50th Street West, Veseli (Wheatland Township).

I asked the Sheriff if the little guy was wearing a helmet and then remembered I never wore one.  I don't recall seeing anyone wearing them at the sledding hill, but it might not be a bad idea.

Any head injury is significant, especially when it happens to young child.  Please remember Dylan Pint in your thoughts and prayers.
