The Wanamingo Jacks will be making their first trip to the State Amateur Baseball Tournament.

The Jacks defeated the Sharks of Stewartville Racine on Saturday to advance to the Region 5C Championship on Sunday against Owatonna.

The Aces beat the Jacks in a 13-inning thriller their last meeting to secure a trip to the big dance and now the two will square off for the top seed and a bye the opening round of the tournament being hosted in Watkins and Cold Spring.

The game is at 11AM Sunday in Owatonna.

The runner up will play at noon Sunday, Aug. 23, in Watkins and the winner would open play on Aug. 29 at 1:30PM.

Cannon Falls punched their ticket to state with a 10-0 seven-inning victory over Mankato on Saturday. Keith Meyers tossed a one-hitter for the Bears. They then lost to Blue Earth 4-3 and will be the third seed out of Region 4C. Cannon Falls opens state play in Watkiins on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 7:30PM. If they win, they would play on Aug. 29 at 11AM in Cold Spring.

Blue Earth and Hampton play for the Region 4C Championship at 11AM Sunday, and Hampton would have to be defeated twice. Both teams will obviously also be heading to the ballparks in Watkins and Cold Spring.
