The Waseca Braves proved the old saying, "It ain't over until it's over" with a dramatic two out rally in the top of the ninth in a 6-4 win over Stewartville/Racine Sunday.

The winner's bracket Region 5C Minnesota Amateur baseball victory clinched a state tournament berth for Waseca.

Stewartville had a 4-3 lead and two outs in the top of the ninth inning when Kelvin Nelson was hit by a pitch on an 0-2 count and then the magic began.

Waseca's Jimmy Loonan smacked an opposite field double and Nelson scored from first base because the cut off man dropped the ball. That tied the game at 4.

Colby Sylvester stroked the eventual game-winning hit and the Sharks were up and down in order in the bottom of the ninth.

So Saturday the winner of the Wanamingo versus Dodge Center game will play Stewartville/Racine and the winner of that contest will also clinch a state trip.

That winner will play Waseca on Sunday for the top seed and a bye on the opening weekend of the tournament.
