Watch Last in Line Pay Tribute to Jimmy Bain

Fan-shot video, seen above and below, has surfaced of a Jimmy Bain tribute by the surviving members of Last in Line. They played the night after Bain died while on board Def Leppard's first Hysteria on the High Seas cruise with replacement bassist Eric Brittingham from Cinderella.

Like fellow Last in Line members Vinny Appice and Vivian Campbell, Bain was a co-founding member of Dio. So little surprise that the tribute set was dotted with Ronnie James Dio-sung favorites, including "Holy Diver," "Man on the Silver Mountain" and "Rainbow in the Dark," the latter of which Bain co-wrote.

Eddie Trunk introduced Last in Line's emotional performance, announcing to everyone that Bain had died aboard the MSC Divina. They'd earlier held a memorial for the bassist, sharing photos, videos and memories.

Trunk also confirmed the circumstances surrounding the discovery of Bain, who was 68. "Jimmy was found in his cabin on the cruise Saturday night – just a few doors down from where I was staying," Trunk shared on Twitter.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, though Bain reportedly had been suffering from pneumonia-like symptoms. Last in Line, who are rounded out by singer Andrew Freeman, are set to release Heavy Crown – their first studio album – on Feb. 19. Earlier this week, they rushed out two new songs in commemoration of their departed bandmate.

Bain was also a former member of Rainbow, where he first collaborated with Dio on 1976's Rising. Over the years, he worked with Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson and frontman Phil Lynott, as well as Gary Moore. Jeff Pilson, also a Dio alum, produced Heavy Crown.
