The weekend is so close! I'm not typically a fan of being cold, but all of the lights and fun window displays throughout downtown has me feeling a bit festive. And looking at the weekend forecast, it looks like we'll be seeing temperatures in the 40s, which is really pretty warm for December. Take advantage of the nice weather and get out this weekend, there are plenty of things going on.

  • The Paradise Center for the Arts presents Twice the Cheer, which is two one-act plays for one ticket price on Friday and Saturday evening. The show features "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" and "Charlie Brown Christmas." Go to paradisecenterforthearts.org for more information.
  • Hometown Holidays continues throughout downtown Faribault on Saturday. The Faribault Main Street organization invites you to bring your little ones and visit Santa at the corner of Fourth Street and Central Avenue. Don't forget to bring your cameras for this free event.
  • Step back in time and visit the Alexander Faribault House. The community's founder and his family lived in the home in the 1850s and the home is decorated for the holidays. The open house is from 10AM to 3PM and is free.
  • Sunday morning the Rice County Sport Fishing Association is hosting an omelet breakfast from 8AM to noon at the Faribault American Legion.

Have a great weekend!
