It's finally Friday! TGIF! If you're looking for weekend fun, I've gathered up a few events going on in the area this weekend!

  • If you enjoy theater, don't miss A Night of One Acts at the Paradise Center for the Arts in downtown Faribault. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7. For more information, go online to paradisecenterforthearts.org
  • Hit the ice during Free Skate at the Faribault Ice Arena starting at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7. Free skate is with a canned good donation.
  • On Saturday, March 7 from 4-7 p.m., head to the Elks Lodge in Faribault for the Jamie Taylor Benefit. Jamie passed away unexpectedly in January, leaving behind four children. There will be a silent auction and taco bar. For more information, call (507) 491-2365
  • On Sunday, March 8, head to the Northfield Arts Guild at 4 p.m. for the reading of the play Duck by local playwright Christine Kallman. For more information, call (507) 645-8788
  • The weather is supposed to be really nice this weekend, so it might also be a great chance to go sledding if you haven't yet this year, or go ice fishing once last time.
  • In local sports action, tune your radio dial to Power 96 at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday for playoff action as Kenyon girls challenge Dover-Eyota. And at 4:45 p.m., pregame coverage comes your way on KDHL 920 as Goodhue girls take on Lyle-Pacelli in playoff action.

Have a great weekend!
