I was working as a building services manager in St. Louis Park. I was getting ready to start the day and I got notices on my computer of the breaking news that the first plane had hit the World Trade Center. I could not believe it at first. I thought it was some sort of hoax story. The company I was working for, one of their services was a travel agency. Right away there was concern whether any of the company's customers were on the flight. I was asked to bring a TV up to the agency so they could monitor. And I was asked to set one up in our employee lounge. Other people were watching on their computers. It was not a very productive day.

I remember watching as much as I could. And how people reacted when the buildings collapsed.

A few days later I was out camping and in an area where planes would normally fly over. The ban on flights was still on. And I remember thinking how strange it was, not to hear any planes.

I hope we never have to deal with anything like this ever again.
