The University of Minnesota Extension will be sponsoring a workshop on soil health and cover crops on February 28, 2018 at the Heintz Center in Rochester 1926 Collegeview Drive SE. The workshop will be held in room HB117. Registration begins at 9:30 am, program at 10:00 am and will conclude at 2:30 pm. The cost is just $15 which covers lunch and handout materials. CEU's have been applied for Certified Crop Advisors for the areas of soil and water management, nutrient management and professional development.

Some of the topics that will be covered include are cover crops actually improving our soils, do soil health tests work to determine fertilizer rates, and what tools are available to compare the benefits, costs and risks of a cover crop? In addition are there new cover crop options that could benefit soils? Pre-registration is required for this workshop so call the Winona County Extension office at 507-457-6440. This workshop is funded by the MN Environmental and Natural Resources Trust  Fund.
