According to Sgt. Mark Hadly of the Rice County Sheriff's office an area man was injured when a gun accidentally discharged.

According to the report around 7:47am Saturday, authorities responded to the 5000 block of 270th St. East, in rural Rice County, on a report of a hunting accident involving a firearm. The victim sustained a severe injury to his left wrist and hand. The injuries are not life threatening.

The victim was identified as 44 year old Troy Noble. He was transported to St. Mary's in Rochester. Faribault Police, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota DNR, Faribault Rescue and North Ambulance all assisted at the scene. The incident is still under investigation.
