Some sad news to pass along. The Medford Civic Club posted on Friday afternoon that they decided to cancel this year's Straight River Days as it's hard to 'plan for the unknown'. The good news is that this seems to only be a one-year hiatus as the group plans on holding Straight River Days in 2021.

The Facebook post from the group stated:

"After much deliberation and trying to plan for the unknown.. we regret to announce that the Medford Civic Club has decided to cancel Straight River Days for June of 2020.

We are still a very active group and we are trying to figure out a plan to offer a variety of events this summer as we are able. We will keep in mind the safety of our community as well as our guests that come to our events.

Straight River Days will be back in June of 2021 in celebration of our 50th year. Looking forward to this being the biggest and best Straight River Days to date." - Medford Civic Club

Several other local festivals have also been canceled including Bullhead Days and Dam Days. Heritage Days in Faribault won't be having any June events, but there is an upcoming announcement this Wednesday from Mayor Kevin Voracek on KDHL's 8:05AM report.
